๐ŸŽต 10th June to 10th July 2022 NAFA IS BACK!  Townsville’s premier Arts and Cultural Festival is back in 2022 - Townsville City Council will present the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA) from 10th June to 10th July. NAFA has taken over Townsville and we've got a rich array of shows, comedies and musical performances to spoil everyone.

"What is a NAFA?"  NAFA is month-long celebration of artistic, cultural and lifestyle events featuring The Northern Fringe Festival, Strand Ephemera, Pop-Up North Queensland (PUNQ), and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) will return bigger and better than ever.   The NAFA Festival hub will be centrally located this year at a new venue Jezzine Barracks, NAFA will take over Brigadier North Park Upper and Lower, the Parade Ground and the Crossed Boomerang Amphitheatre from the 10th June to 10th July. VISIT THE NAFA WEBSITE for all events coming up

Getting Around

Why not get around town on a Scooter!  You’ll see Orange and Purple Scooters around our City Centre for hire, easily download the Neuron or Beam app on your phone, and use the map to find the nearest scooters, then scan to start the hire.  Scooters are approx 45c a minute and a quick and fun way to get around town!

Townsville's a great place to get outdoors and explore with walkways that lead through tropical parklands, wildlife reserves and along our beautiful beaches.   

Our Marina is located directly adjacent to Anzac Park, the first section of the Strand.  This precinct extends 2.7km to Jezzine Barracks which connects to Rowes Bay and further to Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park.

 

You can visit the local council's website to download a guide to the nearby walking and cycle paths, or to find popular trails like the walk up the "Goat Track" up iconic Castle Hill.

Whether you go by foot, bike or car the view at the top of Castle Hill is simply spectacular, best form of free exercise in Townsville - and the views from the top are fantastic!  Either take the road up for a brisk walk, or for a good work out take the "Goat Track".
