Boating - made easy. Breakwater Marina serves as an ideal boating destination thanks to our location amongst the natural wonders of north Queensland.
Situated on the northern east coast of Australia in Wulgurukaba & Bindal Country, the area is a vibrant mix of sub-tropical rainforests, sandy beaches, rugged outback plains and quaint coastal townships. Breakwater Marina is located within Townsville’s City whilst still having immediate ocean access to spectacular islands and secluded beaches.
Conveniently located close to the CBD, the Marina is adjacent to lush parklands and popular dining precincts, the office is open 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm with a self serve 24-Hour Fuel Wharf. With 325 berths, our Marina caters for Long Term and Short Term agreements for vessels up to 45m and welcome live-aboards to our community.
The marina sits within a sheltered position behind the Breakwater rockwall with Magnetic Island just off the coastline, and is protected from waves, swell and prevailing winds.
The inlet channel was dredged in 2018 to a depth of 2.0 meters (LAT) and the marina to maximum 3-4 meters deep (LAT). Breakwater Marina is located at 16 29’06″S and 145 27’33″E and has direct ocean access, you can explore nearby offshore stunning island anchorages with world class fishing, diving and the Great Barrier Reef.
