The outer port lateral, that sits on the outer most rock wall, was damaged during TC Kirrily. It’s been taken down by MSQ and will be replaced.

MSQ have issued a Notice to Mariners, posted as 045T of 2024 – see the Notice to Mariners attached. It states that the outer port lateral is not in situ for mariners to navigate their way in to and out of Breakwater’s access channel both at day and at night. MSQ add that the outer starboard marker is in place and operational so Mariners are advised to use it to aid their way in and out of the access channel.  

MSQ have confirmed a replacement outer Port lateral marker will be be re-instated as soon as practicable.
