To all our Marina Customers,

The BOM have reported this morning that a Tropical Low is forming east of the Solomon Islands and there’s a high chance of it developing into a Tropical Cyclone during Tuesday or Wednesday with the prospect of that system moving south into the north east Coral Sea.

It’s predicted the system should turn southward and continue to intensify through to the weekend.

At this point, the Bureau predicts the system will remain well off the Queensland coast and have no direct impact on the Queensland coast within the week.

The forecast of a Tropical Cyclone developing to the NE of Australia this week serves as a timely reminder that we’re at the start of the monsoon season during which these Tropical weather threats are far more likely to form.

This warning from the BOM affirms the importance of getting an early and thorough audit of all parts of your boat done and to be prioritising the repair and replacement of equipment to ensure your vessel’s ready to withstand the rigours of Tropical Storms.

We’ve completed the first of our Vessel Inspections Marina wide to understand how owners are progressing their readiness measures and we’ll be circulating that advice shortly.

We’ll update this advice as the Tropical System develops.

Regards,

Scott Marshall |  Breakwater Marina Manager
