2022 International Womens Day
Today is International Women’s Day and therefore a great opportunity to celebrate the women in our lives; to recognise the incredible achievement’s of women, to be grateful for their sacrifices and contributions, to be inspired by their ideas and passion and to acknowledge that there are still challenges to overcome.
I sit alongside 4 wonderful and capable women at Breakwater Marina. They each bring vastly different personalities and skill sets but collectively they share an independence and passion to deliver the best version of themselves. The marina business is infinitely better for their contribution; their compassion, their ideas, their perseverance and their willingness to make a difference. The late great Judy Garland was quoted as saying “Always be a first rate version of yourself instead of a second rate version of somebody else” and I think this embodies really nicely the diversity and character of my 4 office ladies whose differences are valued and are to be celebrated.
This year, the theme for International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias, and I think the message from that is that we each share the responsibility to be accountable for our thoughts and actions all day, every day in order to level the playing field.
To all the ladies who work, reside and play at Breakwater Marina, have an inspired International Women’s Day.
